The people that make a difference…
by stuicide on Apr.28, 2008, under Personal
Last week, my gaming community went through some drama. Not necessarily because of bad things, but just people needing to readjust, and in the process we ended up losing one of my favorite members. While I still plan on keeping in touch with this great person, it’s gonna be a bit tougher when they won’t be around the boards as much.
Anyways, there are always certain people that make an impression and are leaders in everything they do. Angel was one of these people. Her attitude was also positive and she really was influential, even when she wasn’t on the staff. Her heart started going elsewhere, and while her mission was the same “Good Game” as ours, she had become a bigger leader elsewhere and in order for her to really pursue all opportunities I’m sure she wanted to be more dedicated than she already was (which was more than most people ever will be).
I’ll remember the good times, the shared memories, and how much she cared for her peers. Truly an outstanding person. I will always follow her successful journey and support her ambitions.
Here’s to bs angel. A gamer and a friend. Someone who made me realize how much a friend can feel like family.
Anticipation
by stuicide on Apr.28, 2008, under Snippet
I can’t wait much longer! GTA IV comes out in 2 and a half hours and as soon as I get it I have to get ready to sleep so I can go to work.
This should be a great game and I can’t wait to play it. Almost time… it’s been the longest day of my life…. ok, not really but at least the longest day of my time at Weichert Realtors.
My new car!

I love it. I purchased a 2008 Accord Coupe EX-L in Gunmetal Gray and Black Leather Interior. I’ll be driving this car around for several years so I’m excited about it.
Self Improvement
by stuicide on Apr.20, 2008, under Personal
A goal I have given myself recently is to do something every day, no matter how small it may be, to improve myself.
With this new job and school starting back this fall I want to take a big step in self improvement. I want to work out more, read more, learn how to take a better picture, have more fun playing games, work harder, think better, and improve on social skills.
There are a million things that I wish I could be better at, so I better start working on them one at a time. If I don’t push myself to improve in all areas of my life, then no one will.

Do not, under any circumstance, underestimate your ability to care.
2nd Interview
by stuicide on Apr.15, 2008, under Personal
I got a phone call this morning and I’ll be going in Wednesday for a 2nd Interview at the Realtor company that I interviewed with last week. I’ll be interviewing with the old Marketing Manager and hopefully it’ll go very well and I’ll have the job very soon
I’m excited for some work, it’s been a while since I’ve had to grind for a bit. The discipline of having to be somewhere every day really helps my productivity, although my late night brainstorming sessions get cut drastically down.

This is my favorite picture I’ve ever taken. Seeing this makes me want to learn more about photography and to do it more often.
What makes a good movie?
by stuicide on Apr.13, 2008, under Media
I just wanted to write some thoughts down since it’s 2:30 on a Saturday night and I’m just in one of those moods.
What makes a good movie? Sure there are usually big action sequences or flashy special effects or even wild off the wall comedy sequences, all of those are important in certain films, but when you boil it down, none of it matters if the content doesn’t reach the fanbase.
- A story or conflict that sets the “Why” for the film. You need a reason to watch people interact, sometimes it’s what defines the movie, sometimes it’s very slight, but gives some structure to the movie.
- A Protagonist – the character that drives the action forward. No one wants to watch the main character sit back and not make things happen. Some of my favorite movies include a protagonist who is conflicted.
- Dialogue – I just saw a few short films that really bored me because the dialogue didn’t work. They tried to be overly smart or use a bunch of fancy terms that really just made the characters seem arrogant and boring, I didn’t care for them.
Those are just a few things that popped into my mind at first thought. There are dozens of elements that have to be just right to make a film worth watching, but I think if you focus on having interesting characters that interact well with each other and have a conflict that leads the film you should have the building blocks of a good movie.
Legendary Map Pack
by stuicide on Apr.11, 2008, under Gaming
Last night I was able to download the Legendary map pack for Halo 3 a few days early.
Blackout – the remake of Lockout is great, but all of the walls look the same, and you will spawn not knowing where you are. Also, the map feels smaller because they enlarged a few of the rooms, which cut down path distance between point A and B. Jumps are mostly easier now, but they took out the ledges which were used to jump off of doorways, one of my favorite aspects of Halo 2’s Lockout. All in all, the changes aren’t very big and the map should play very similar to how it did in Halo 2. Should be a great 4v4 Team Slayer map.
Avalanche – the spiritual successor of Sidewinder is going to be a great addition to the BTB maps. With it’s horseshoe shape, it feels extra large, even though a man on foot can make good time between bases compared to a Warthog going the long route at full speed. The flag placement is right at the edge of the 2nd story so grabbing the flag should be a little bit easier than it was in Halo 2’s Containment. This should allow for less stalemates, even though no one is gonna be making it home safely without a vehicle transport.
Ghost Town – By far the most interesting and confusing of all of the maps, it feels like a lot of Halo 2 maps thrown into a COD 4/ GoW style and should result in a great map. It has the limestone look of Sanctuary, but plays much more like Turf in that it’s an Asymmetric square with lots of paths, but with the multiple levels of Ivory Tower so you can never really trust your radar. This should provide a lot of different ways to win and lose a match. There are long sight lines, but lots of close space. A shotgun will be just as deadly as a sniper rifle.
Can’t wait to see all of you guys join me on Tuesday for the new fun.
